FATS Forty 42MSunday, October 12, 2008 - 7:30 AMCheck-in between 6:45 and 7:15 AM Trail briefing at 7:15 AM Click here to see the Map of the FATS Ultra Trail Run A forty mile trail run on the FATS (Forks Area Trail System), located in Sumter National Forest near North Augusta, SC. The course is a series of 7 loops of well-groomed, rolling terrain, forested trails with one short section of road, some hills, some roots, but overall, very runnable. There will be 6 fully-stocked aid stations with a wide variety of food and drinks, food at the finish, unique finisher's awards and no cut-off times. The course will be marked with orange ribbons:
No set entry fee is being charged, however, please send a donation to defray expenses for food, drinks, awards, etc. In the event there are any monies left after expenses, they will be donated to SORBA (Southern Off-Road Biking Association), who worked with the Forest Service to create these trails and continue to maintain the trails. There are numerous motels nearby in North Augusta and Augusta. Camping is available for a $7 per night fee at Lick Fork Lake Campground, about 12 miles from the start. Race Director: Terri Hayes
