Swamp Fox Passage 42MSunday, October 12, 2008 - 7:30 AMCheck-in at finish between 6 and 6:30 AM
This run starts at the Swamp Fox Trailhead on Highway 17 in Awendaw, approximately 27 miles north of Charleston, and follows the Swamp Fox Passage of the Palmetto Trail for 42 miles through Francis Marion National Forest, finishing at the Canal Recreation Area on Highway 52, 6 miles north of Moncks Corner. Course is mainly smooth, flat, shaded trails, a few roots and bridges, at least 9 road crossings, 2 which are U.S. highways. The trail is marked with some signage and white blazes on trees. There will be some additional markings with orange ribbons. Well-stocked aid stations on the course, food at the finish, no cut-off times, and awards for all finishers. Runners not taking the transportation from the finish may check-in at the start by 7:15 AM. Race Director: Terri Hayes
